AENA, Spain's Public Business Entity, manages the country's civil airports and air navigation facilities. Their mission is to guarantee safe, fluid, and efficient air transport. AENA uses the GSA (Global Surveillance Architecture) system to manage video surveillance equipment across all facilities. GSA integrates video systems with other critical airport services, ensuring smooth communication between air traffic control, security, and resource management.
In collaboration with THALES, Kubernesys developed a prototype to integrate PELCO equipment with the GSA system. This solution optimized AENA's airport security and surveillance infrastructure.
Challenge
As the airport network grew, so did the complexity of operations. Managing everything from aircraft landings and takeoffs to luggage handling, air traffic control, and perimeter security became increasingly challenging.
